The holiday season often calls us out of our cozy, custom decorated homes and into the masses of shoppers trying eagerly to mark off their gift lists before December 24th. It’s a busy time of year that often passes with the blink of an eye and leaves us feeling exhausted and in need of a warm beach vacation in Mexico.

This season, gift you and your loved ones with some special memories outside of the home. The Brazos Valley is bountiful in options to please everyone from the little elves to Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Today we’re throwing together a few of our favorite holiday traditions to be enjoyed between your shopping errands. We’ve made our list, now check it twice!

  1. Annual Christmas Parade: On December 12th, the city of Bryan will be hosting its yearly Christmas parade. Join the community in viewing holiday spirit from local schools, organizations, and teams!
  2. Make a Date: Slow down a little and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or craft coffee from one of the many downtown coffee shops. The college students are done with finals and have left for the winter break, so coffee shops are back to their quiet nature.
  3. Christmas at the Creek: On Fridays from 6-10pm and Saturdays 10am-6pm, the Wolf Pen Amphitheatre is alive with a nativity scene, an ice skating rink, hayrides, dance performances, inflatables, a petting zoo, and additional live entertainment.
  4. A Bloody Holiday: This option is a little out of the norm, but will surely prove to be a good change of pace. Messina Hof hosts “I Saw Mommy Killing Santa Claus: Find out who killed the Santa Claus at Lacy’s Department” at 7pm Saturday December 13th. Call to make a reservation.

At Magruder Homes we proudly build our move in ready homes to begin building memories in, but with a great community like Bryan-College Station, we know there is much to see and do around the Brazos Valley this holiday season. Catch some time away from the mall and enjoy this beautiful time of year.
